Release of eProsima Fast DDS 2.12.0

eProsima is happy to unveil the release of Fast DDS v2.12.0! We are delighted to share this new and upgraded version, wich brings plenty of new and enhanced features, such as  Configurable SHM transport for discovery and XCDR support, continuous integration improvements, and bug fixes.

Key highlights of the Fast DDS v2.12.0 release include:

NEW FEATURES ADDED  

• New participant property to configure SHM transport for discovery.
• Set the user's payload pool on DDS DataWriter and DataReader declaration.

• Processing environment variables in XML text

• New Upgraded Fast DDS dependencies: 
  • Fast DDS-Gen release v3.0.0 with the following features: 
    • Support for @optional builtin annotation <optional_members>
    • Support for @extensibility builtin annotation <extensibility>  
  • Fast CDR submodule to v2.0.0. 
    • This feature introduces XCDR encoding, which is now compatible with CDR versions 1 and 2. 

IMPROVEMENTS

• Improved performance on intraprocess and datasharing. 
• Shared Memory resilience to crashing participants.
• Scripts shabang portability
• fixed_string comparison operators.
• You can now remove mutex from TimedEventImpl (#3745, #3760)
• Use foonathan_memory to reduce allocations in SharedMemManager.
