This 3D sonar takes full advantage of Fast DDS capabilities such as Shared Memory to transfer messages between the nodes of the obstacle detection software. This feature is extremely convenient for iXblue as it offers a transport mechanism that reduces latency and CPU usage while increasing the throughput, which is useful as the SeapiX-FLS 5 works with a big data rate.
Fast DDS is a high-quality communication protocol, based on the DDS (Data Distribution Service) standard by the OMG (Object Management Group). Fast DDS is the most complete open source DDS middleware for real time distributed architectures and critical systems.
