eProsima is pleased to announce the release of Fast DDS 3.0, a major update that substantially advances our Data Distribution Service (DDS) implementation.
In this version, Fast DDS 3.0 supports XTypes 1.3, the latest version of the Object Management Group (OMG) Extensible and Dynamic Topic Types for DDS standard. This update enables more flexible and dynamic data types in DDS applications, greatly enhancing interoperability and simplifying integration.
In addition to improving XTypes support, Fast DDS 3.0 introduces the Gather Sent capability, significantly improving network data transmission. This new feature enhances performance when transmitting large data sets over network transports, making Fast DDS more efficient and reliable for high-demand applications.
Key new features include:
- GUIDLess Discovery Server: No need to assign an identifier to the discovery server.
- FlowControllerDescription: Now configurable through XML.
Moreover, this version incorporates several improvements, bug fixes, and further performance optimizations.
