We are thrilled to announce that the Fast DDS v 2.1 has been released and it offers a series of brand new features, improvements and bug fixes, resulting in an astonishing performance enhancement. Find below a detailed list of the main advancements accomplished in this new version:
NEW FEATURES ADDED

- Added support for `on_requested_incompatible_qos` and `on_offered_incompatible_qos`

PERFORMANCE
eProsima Fast DDS 2.1 intra-process mechanism now offers lower latency and improved CPU usage whilst allowing higher message throughput.
The following test results have been obtained using Open Robotics [buildfarm_perf_test] tool. The middleware implementation used was [rmw_fastrtps_cpp]. QoS settings are left by default, with the exception of publication mode. That is BEST_EFFORT reliability, VOLATILE durability, KEEP_LAST 10 history QoS.
