Madrid, April 2022
eProsima is proud to announce the Python bindings for Fast DDS, an effort with the Software Engineering Institute (SEI).
The SEI at Carnegie Mellon University is a Federally Funded Research and Development Center of the United States Government. As the institute is deeply involved in different areas such as software engineering and related disciplines, the SEI showed its interest in the use of eProsima Fast DDS. This DDS (Data Distribution Service) standard based communication middleware gains special importance in robotics and critical systems, due to its real-time characteristics and high-performance.
To adapt eProsima’s DDS middleware solution to SEI’s possible use cases, SEI engaged with eProsima to develop the Python bindings for Fast DDS, including assisting with the effort through verification and validation. This open source wrapper of the Fast DDS library allows users to directly connect applications developed in Python, the most popular programming language, to the DDS world.
